FSU nailed it.

A little over a month ago, FSU football had four commits in its 2025 recruiting class that ranked No. 70 nationally. I wrote a post detailing how FSU was in a good position for several blue-chip recruits and how their ranking could improve drastically by the end of July. Well, here we are near the end of July and FSU crushed it over the past month. FSU added nine commits overall:

Here's who committed in June:

  • Kevin Wynn (DT): No. 195 nationally, No. 24 DL, No. 29 player in GA
  • CJ Wiley (WR): No. 136 nationally, No. 15 WR, No. 19 player in GA
  • Myron Charles (DT): No. 126 nationally, No. 14 DL, No. 19 player in FL
  • Chase Loftin (TE): No. 374 nationally, No. 19 TE, No. 2 player in NE
  • Gregory Zae Thomas (DB): No. 293 nationally, No. 25 S, No. 42 player in FL

Here's who committed in July:

  • Peyton Joseph (OL): No. 180 nationally, No. 10 IOL, No. 26 player in GA
  • Max Redmon (Safety): No. 1,161 nationally, No. 97 safety, No. 155 player in FL
  • Daylan McCutcheon (WR): No. 93 nationally, No. 14 WR, No. 18 player in TX
  • Malik Clark (WR): No. 221 nationally, No. 26 WR, No. 2 player in SC

FSU ranks No. 17 nationally with 12 of 13 players ranked as blue-chip, which gives the Noles a 92.3 percent blue-chip ratio. Their average per-player ranking is 92.89. Only Oregon (94.06), Alabama (93.86), LSU (93.82), and Ohio State (93.76) have higher player averages. Outside of Oregon with 14 commits, all of the schools with higher class rankings than FSU have many more commits, which bolsters their overall ranking. FSU has a few more targets: Josh Petty, Ousmane Kromah, Byron Louis, Bryce Fitzgerald, Tony Williams, Ty Jackson, and Jared Smith. I expect FSU to land 2-3 of those players likely, and FSU could potentially flip a couple of guys if they have a great season and the teams some players are committed to have a lousy season and fire their staff. FSU is in a great position and only needs to hit on three more positions to satisfy nearly every need in this 2025 class.

I said the coaching staff would be in this position a month ago. It hasn't gone exactly how I envisioned, with the staff missing on some guys I thought they would land, but landing others I didn't expect. At any rate, they are recruiting at an extremely high level.
