RON DUGANS!! 4-star WR Daylan McCutcheon commits to Florida State
Florida State has added some tremendous prospects in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The Seminoles added eleven prospects to its class as the following prospects said "yes" to the program:
Five-star IOL Solomon Thomas
Four-star QB Tramell Jones Jr.
Four-star WR CJ Wiley
Four-star TE Chase Loftin
Four-star IOL Peyton Joseph
Four-star DE Javion Hilson
Four-star DT Kevin Wynn
Four-star DT Myron Charles
Four-star LB Ethan Pritchard
Four-star CB Gregory Thomas
Three-star S Max Redmon
On Saturday afternoon, the Seminoles added yet another recruit to the fold in four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon from Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas as he chose Florida State over schools such as USC, Texas, Ohio State, and SMU.
There was a massive push from the USC Trojans (NIL was a big factor there). However, the Seminoles were able to win out for his recruitment in the end. Florida State was able to get the last official visit for McCutcheon during the massive June 21st weekend.
During the exit meeting in Tallahassee with various media members, he stated how visiting Florida State was the standard with all of his visits. He had visited multiple times to campus even with being from the state of Texas.
This is a prospect that the Seminoles could not afford to miss where he recorded 92 receptions for 1,430 yards and 20 touchdowns during his junior season in 2023. Florida State's wide receiver board was filled with recruits that would be tough pulls like five-star Kaliq Lockett, five-star Vernell Brown III, five-star Jaime Ffrench Jr. (not realistic), four-star Malik Clark, and four-star Koby Howard (FSU faded when recruiting him).
Thankfully, Florida State does not have to reset its entire target board to find quality pieces for the foundation of the program. Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans now has two prospects that can build blocks for the recruiting class going forward in four-star Daylan McCutcheon and four-star CJ Wiley.
