4-star DT Kevin Wynn has committed to the Florida State Seminoles
Florida State football sat as the 70th-best recruiting class in the 247Sports Composite rankings. Seminole fans were extremely frustrated with the lack of recruiting success given that Florida State had a combined 23-4 record over the last two seasons.
The Seminoles' coaching staff had a massive recruiting weekend with over nineteen official visitors. In a recent article, we broke down tidbits of every recruit that visited, be sure to check it out by clicking here.
Tidbits are nice and all, but fans want to see the commitments start flooding in. Some individuals start to see arch-rivals Florida and Miami get a variety of recruits (sorry Dabo, I did not want to mention your team) and get discouraged.
However, on Monday, Florida State FINALLY got some good news in favor of their program as four-star defensive tackle Kevin Wynn from Greene County High School in Greensboro, Georgia decided to commit to the Seminoles.
Defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins strikes again! The longest-tenured assistant coach on the Seminoles' coaching staff has hopefully started a trend of many prospects making their decision to Florida State.
Wynn is listed at 6'2" and 320 pounds on multiple recruiting databases. After his official visit with Florida State, the defensive tackle told various media members that the Seminoles felt like home to him. Wynn received his first-ever offer from Florida State so it had to be special to see the program take a chance on his development as a prospect before anyone else did.
While he is a State of Georgia recruit, the Seminoles were able to hold off the Georgia Bulldogs (in your face, Kirby!). Florida State will more than likely have to replace the likes of potential defensive tackle starters such as Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson Jr.
Getting a prospect such as four-star Kevin Wynn, it could create a firm foundation in the position room.
