FSU recruiting hasn’t been at the forefront too much over the past few weeks. They got a big flip from a four-star linebacker a few days ago that solidified that unit. We discussed the three biggest needs remaining for the 2026 recruiting class here.

FSU football has been working on figuring out special teams and building depth over the past few practices. The coaching staff has a good idea who will be the starters on offense and defense.

They are still trying different combinations on kickoff and punt returns, and looking to build depth at wide receiver, offensive line, and in the secondary.

If you're not sure about how good Thomas Castellenos will be in 2025, he'll definitely be better than DJ Uiagalelei.

Injury Updates

They are relatively healthy aside from an injury to Kevin Wynn and Lawayne McCoy. Wynn will probably return after the Alabama game if I had to guess and McCoy might be longer. Squirrel White has been in a boot, but they plan to limit him so he’ll be ready for the season opener against Alabama.

Alabama lost its starting running back to a collarbone injury, and we discussed how Alabama may plan to work around that injury on offense here.

FSU Soccer

FSU soccer started its season off with a bang, destroying the rival Florida Gators 5-0 before shutting out FIU 2-0 on Sunday night. The Noles will hit the road for the first time this season when they travel to Kansas on Thursday, August 28th. They entered the season ranked No. 3 but will likely move up with North Carolina’s loss against Tennessee in their season opener.

Some former FSU players who entered the transfer portal are not projected to start at their new homes.
