FSU football recruiting is holding steady with the No. 14-ranked recruiting class nationally, with 22 commitments. I wrote a few weeks ago how FSU would likely not have a top 10 class and would finish in that No. 11-15 range.
That looks like it’ll come to fruition as FSU only has a few needs left in the class, but will likely need to flip players from other schools to fill those needs.
Speaking of flips, FSU pulled off a big one on Friday when composite top 100 player Izayia Williams flipped from Ole Miss to the Noles.
The flip didn’t have the effect it would normally have because Williams changed his commitment multiple times and had been committed to the Noles in the past. There’s a fear he could flip again before signing in December, but he’s a talented player who helps lock down the linebacker position with three in the class.
FSU is fine at QB, defensive back, tight end, wide receiver, and the defensive tackle position. If they could find a top-tier defensive tackle, I’d take’em no doubt. A team can never have too much depth there.
The new coaching staff have done a great job with a shorten recruiting calendar and all the negatives that come with a 2-10 season. They have three big recruiting needs remaining to fill out the class.
