FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Florida State football has dealt with adversity in the 2026 recruiting class. They were rated as the 15th-best in the 247Sports Composite rankings after three-star defensive lineman James "Tank" Carrington de-committed from the program.

This had some of the fan base wondering what was going on with the program. As it stands, I believe that the Seminoles had a tough circumstance with the 2-10 season. It was unfortunate that it happened, but they have to find a way to get around it.

Florida State will be taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide in almost two weeks, and the recruiting process is in the quiet period across the country. However, that didn't stop the bomb shell that came on Friday morning as four-star linebacker Izayia Williams has flipped his commitment from Ole Miss to Florida State.

Williams's recruitment has been all over the place, where he had even pledged to the Seminoles in the past, but the program must see something in him as a prospect to give him another chance.

As it stands, Florida State has three linebacker prospects that they can build around with four-star Karon Maycock, three-star Noah LaVallee, and now four-star Izayia Williams.

I thought this commitment was out of left field, and the chances of him signing in December are low given his history, but I am glad that the Seminoles can still attract talented prospects to the university.

I hope that Williams is impressed with what he sees and becomes a productive linebacker in the Garnet and Gold.
