FSU football started June with four commits in its 2025 recruiting class and hadn't had a commit since Javion Hilson flipped his commitment from Alabama when Nick Saban retired in January. FSU football fans always get antsy when it comes to recruiting(I don't know why when the staff has proven they know what they're doing). Lots of schools had double-digit commits going into the month, but if you follow FSU recruiting closely, they don't push for early commitments before summer. They plan to host most of their top targets on official visits in June, and a large percentage of those official visitors usually pledge their commitments in June or July. We saw it this time last year with several commitments on or around July 4th after hosting 14 official visitors on the last weekend in June. FSU saw eight of those 14 eventually sign with the Noles. FSU had 19 official visitors on campus the weekend of June 21-23, and four have committed to the Noles since Monday. FSU moved from the No. 70 class nationally to No. 35(with way fewer commits than everyone ahead of them). Here's who committed over the past week:

  • Kevin Wynn (DT): No. 195 nationally, No. 24 DL, No. 29 player in GA
  • CJ Wiley (WR): No. 136 nationally, No. 15 WR, No. 19 player in GA
  • Myron Charles (DT): No. 126 nationally, No. 14 DL, No. 19 player in FL
  • Chase Loftin (TE): No. 374 nationally, No. 19 TE, No. 2 player in NE
  • Gregory Zae Thomas (DB): No. 293 nationally, No. 25 S, No. 42 player in FL

Those are composite rankings and all those players are composite blue-chip players. The good news is that FSU is nowhere near finished, with several players expected to announce their decisions over the next week. I asked where FSU would rank at the end of July a week ago. I hinted they could easily be inside the top 25, and they almost accomplished that before June ended. Buckle up, FSU should have more recruiting fireworks in July!
