Chop Chat seeks new writers, Florida State Seminoles fans
Chop Chat has steadily grown as FanSided’s home for Florida State athletics coverage dating back to when the site was first launched in early 2009. The Seminoles have seen the full gamut of on-field successes and failures in that time, and the staff here on site has been through it all with them. The constant has always been our goal here on site: to give you folks, our readers, the very best Florida State discussion that we possibly can.
Currently, the football team is gearing up for the 2016 season and the recruiting push is on across multiple sports. As such, we want to hit each and every season with a head of steam like no other. We need your help to do that.
Consider yourself a passionate fan? Read us or other Seminoles sites with regularity and ever wonder if you should write about the team too? Maybe you’re just stumbling across us for the first time and you like what you see. We are looking to add to our staff here on site and this could be your chance to grab a stick and join the team.
Chop Chat is currently looking to fill multiple roles on site.
Expectations
We like to let our staff write about the aspects of the team they are most passionate about. There’s room for those interested in covering the football team, baseball, basketball, or any other sport under the Florida State umbrella. Maybe you’re more of a recruiting junkie and you want to talk about the impact a new signing could have. Or even just chipping in on game previews, roundtable discussions on staff about how each team should approach the offseason or whether a big move is needed to get them back on top, or helping with a number of other potential story ideas there could be a place for you here on the team.

Writers are asked to contribute 1-2 posts per week. We’ll always welcome more frequent contributions than that, but we won’t require it.
We know that for most this is mostly a hobby and something you do for the love of it. That’s why we do it too, as most of us have families, full-time careers, and/or school to balance into our lives as well (there’s room for things besides sports, right?). This is an opportunity to join a staff of writers here who are just simply passionate about the Seminoles and want to continue to reach the rest of this great fan base.
Want to join us?
Applying is very easy. Head on over and complete an application. It’ll give you a chance to share some insight into your background (prior online writing experience is not necessary but always encouraged) and let us know why you’d be a fit on site, so give it your best. We’ll be in touch from there.
If you have any questions about the roles, please feel free to email kyle.franzoni@fansided.com with any questions.
