FSU head football coach Mike Norvell got asked about true freshman quarterback Brock Glenn, who was not at the game against Boston College last Saturday, during Wednesday’s media session.

Norvell responded with the following statement about Glenn:

"“He is good. He will be out for a few weeks. He had something in the first game. He will not be available. But we will get him back here at the end of the season and continue to progress with him.”"

The former four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle has showcased his talents during the offseason, especially with him being an early enrollee. Some individuals thought there could have been an opportunity for him to realistically compete with redshirt junior Tate Rodemaker as the primary backup.

While the Seminoles have their quarterback in veteran Jordan Travis this season, the coaching staff needs to figure out what life is like without Travis in the offense. The former Louisville transfer has been on the Seminoles’ roster since 2019, and has progressively gotten better each year in the offensive system.

This quarterback situation presents the question: Is Tate Rodemaker ready to take the next step forward as the starter?
We witnessed what the Valdosta (Ga.) native did in relief duty when Travis went down with injury against the Louisville Cardinals last season. But can he sustain that elevation of play for an entire season?

With Glenn hurt, will that ruin his opportunity to start early on his career? Could other quarterbacks, such as redshirt freshman AJ Duffy and true freshman Luke Kromenhoek (if he indeed signs with the Seminoles) get in the mix? A few weeks missed is valuable time to get real reps in practice. Will that allow AJ Duffy to take more reps and improve his standing?

Overall, the coaching staff loves what Glenn brings to the table as a passer and how well he processes the game of football at such a young age. I believe that he will be a huge plan in what the Seminoles want to accomplish with their offense in the future.
