FSU Sports: What Would An All-Florida Conference Mean For The Noles?
By Jason Parker
Baseball in the Sunshine State
If the Florida Sun Conference was a real thing, they would be dominating the world of college baseball with just weeks to go until the NCAA Tournament. Currently, three teams from the state are in the top five of most major polls, while nearly half the conference would be in the 64 teams field.
So far in 2016, FSU baseball is 5-4 against the five in-state foes they have played (three of those losses coming against Florida and the other against Jacksonville, both within the same “division”) while the Seminoles have six games left this season against teams from the Sunshine State (including a three game series against Miami to end the regular season).

If the NCAA Tournament started today, many insiders believe that all of the state’s Big Three would be national seeds, thus hosting both the regional and super regional round of the tournament. Those same insiders have FAU playing in the regional hosted by Miami, while FAMU will play across town at FSU’s regional and Jacksonville will head to Gainesville for theirs.
Yeah, we know that this was all for fun and the chances of it ever happening are extremely slim…but imagine if it did occur? Florida would truly be able to show the world what we already know about the Sunshine State: it is the best place in the entire country when it comes to college sports.
