It’s FSU at Lousville tonight in what may be the Seminoles’ toughest remaining test of the regular season, here’s a look at what to watch for.

Florida State is set to take on Louisville tonight on ESPN. The Seminoles haven’t played the Cardinals since 2002 in a trip that feels eerily similar to this one. FSU was ranked fourth then and lost to the Cardinals on the road on a Thursday night. Fast forward 12 years and Jimbo Fisher’s no. 2-ranked Seminoles are riding a 23-game win streak into a Thursday night road date with the Cardinals on Halloween’s eve.

Spooky (not really).

There’s also been a bunch of off-the-field distractions this week — just like pretty much any other week around this program — only this time it wasn’t centered around quarterback Jameis Winston. Instead, running back Karlos Williams was named in a pair of investigations — into allegations of robbery and domestic abuse — and once again the national buzzards have begun circling around FSU.

This team is good at blocking distractions, but given the caliber of this week’s opponent — Louisville boasts the nation’s top defense — an off-week by the Seminoles could be disastrous. Louisville has the potential to give FSU fits, the Cardinals can run the ball and are tough on defense– they will have the ability to beat the Seminoles if they turn in a great game.

FSU is favored tonight, but given all of the things that could affect the Seminoles — from the venue to the odd week to the off-field stuff — there’s a very real chance Louisville could pull the upset too.
