Florida State football will begin its spring practices on Monday, March 9th, and the fan base's morale is at an all-time low with having four losing seasons in six years under the Mike Norvell era. However, as we saw with Indiana winning the national championship this past season, there is an opportunity for teams to turn it around quickly.

The Seminoles have to prove some of the doubters wrong, especially those ESPN analysts like Paul Finebaum and Greg McElroy (even though he mentions that he is a bit bullish on Florida State this year).

Florida State made several changes to its roster, where they brought in transfers from the portal and high school recruits. Coach Norvell hopes that this push on acquiring more talent will achieve sustainable success for a program that is starving for wins.

The 2026 class could have significant snaps for the Seminoles this season

The first time in quite a while, the coaching staff was able to put its trust in the homegrown talent on the roster. We saw true freshmen like Ousmane Kromah, Jayvan Boggs, Mandrell Desir, and Darryll Desir play significant snaps.

Some say that the Seminoles over-relied on the transfer portal, which has factored into their struggles on the field. However, this season could be a great opportunity for the 2026 recruiting class to make their own impact. As a result, I thought that it would be appropriate to highlight three true freshmen who could see significant snaps in 2026.

Analysis of the selections

Florida State has a trio of wide receivers in Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, and Jayvan Boggs that fans should be excited about, but adding true freshman pass catchers Devin Carter and EJ White could provide a change of pace to the offense.

As for the defense, coordinator Tony White will be entering his second season with implementing his 3-3-5 defensive scheme. The players were still acclimating to the change and were often out of position. The defense needed to add more talent to that side of the ball, and I believe that what you got in linebacker Izayia Williams, cornerback Chuck Kennon, and safety Tre Bell III.
