FSU football will be taking on the Louisville Cardinals in the ACC Championship on Saturday night at 8:00 PM EST on ABC.

The Seminoles are playing for all of the marbles. Head football coach Mike Norvell and company understand the magnitude of this contest where if Florida State finds a way to win the football game, they will most likely be in the College Football Playoff (regardless of what these college football “analysts” say).

Florida State has dealt with its fair share of adverse situations. The Seminoles were relatively healthy in certain positions earlier this season, but that thought process turned its ugly head as redshirt senior quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a season-ending injury in their matchup versus North Alabama.

As a result, the Seminoles had a next-man-up approach as redshirt junior signal caller Tate Rodemaker stepped into the starting role against arch-rival Florida Gators. While the Valdosta (GA) native did not have a memorable performance versus the Gators, he did enough to secure the victory.

However, just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for Florida State, Rodemaker took a hit by a Florida defender in the fourth quarter while sliding, which resulted in a 15-yard personal foul penalty with targeting. The veteran left the game for a couple of plays before returning to the contest to hand the football off to running back Trey Benson to seal the deal for the 24-15 victory.

Rodemaker is now listed as a game-time decision for Saturday’s contest versus Louisville and true freshman Brock Glenn could be making the start for the Seminoles.

CHOPCHAT STAFF SCORE PREDICTIONS

-Taylor Devers: FSU 24-23

-Kelvin Hunt: FSU 27-20

-Jason Zang: FSU 23-17

-Nick Andre: FSU 33-20

Our staff has continued to ride with the Seminoles for the entire season. This will likely be Florida State’s most challenging game given the uncertainty at the quarterback position. Will the coaching staff put in Rodemaker? Will Glenn make his collegiate start? Either way, Seminole fans will be sweating bullets as Florida State will have their opportunity to make it to the College Football Playoff.

Buckle up Seminole fans, it is about to get very interesting.
