Andrew Parchment

The wide receiver room doesn’t have proven production, and thus FSU needed to infuse the room with a known commodity in Andrew Parchment. The main qualifier put on this unit is that they currently don’t have a number one option out wide, and they need Parchment to be that.

The grad transfer proved himself during his time at Kansas and should be the biggest threat in FSU’s passing game.

I feel confident he is prepared to do this. But then again, this unit is one injury away from more questions. Which players in an inexperienced room will step up? Will the passing offense be able to attack the middle of the field?

There are positive signs that point to a few answers.

The 2020 class of receivers seem to be getting healthy and tapped to contribute more. Kentron Poitier had a great spring, and Bryan Robinson got right and capped it off with a good spring game performance.

The 2021 class of receivers also had a quality offseason and were always a talking point. They proved their capabilities in the spring game. The only question of that group is if Destyn Hill will ever make it in and when that will be? My guess is spring right now.

The last question I have is about Ontaria Wilson. His injury last season didn’t seem to affect his spring, but will it rear its ugly head again as preseason begins to pick up steam. As a fan base, we know he can contribute and do so well, but can he avoid being dethroned as the clear No. 2.

Also, a special shout out to another option for the No. 2 spot, Keyshawn Helton, who has looked  good since getting fully healthy.
