Quarterback Play Can Mask Lots of Things

We’ve already seen glimpses of this in this season. The opening drives of games scripted by the coaches show they can coach.

FSU moves the ball well even with James Blackman as the QB early in games. It’s when things aren’t scripted where the offense goes off the rails.

However, the offense seems to be somewhat competent with Jordan Travis, although he is limited as a passer.

All we have to do is look around at other teams that have found talented quarterbacks to lead their programs. North Carolina got former FSU commit Sam Howell and went from 3-9 to 7-6 in one season.

LSU couldn’t win anything, and Joe Burrow came out of nowhere to help them become one of the best teams of all time in one year. Clemson’s been able to stay on top because of excellent quarterback play over the last 5-6 years.

Miami got D’Eriq King from the transfer portal, and their offense looks different than years past. Good quarterback play can help a sub-par or even average offensive line.
