FSU Has The Players To Make The Change

That’s half the problem right there. FSU has had the problem of not having a talented replacement at quarterback since the 2017 season when James Blackman had to play as a true freshman.

Part of that problem was Jimbo Fisher whiffing on a few prospects, and the other problem was Willie Taggart never signing at QB in two recruiting cycles.

Mike Norvell has signed two talented players in Rodemaker and Purdy and has another committed for 2021 in four-star Luke Altmyer.

That alone should give FSU football fans hope. It’s not going to be an overnight fix, but Norvell being here the next few years will at least guarantee stability, unlike what James Blackman has experienced.

Norvell signed these players for a reason, his belief they can flourish in his offensive system. A similar situation was when Jimbo Fisher had to play EJ Manuel as a freshman in the 2009 season.

The offense was limited, but Fisher played to his strengths, and Manuel was one of the reasons Bobby Bowden made a bowl that season and went out without a losing season.
