Lots of New Faces Will Be Contributors

One thing that stood out from Saturday’s press conference after the scrimmage was comments made by FSU defensive coordinator Adam Fuller.

I’m paraphrasing, but he said they have experience returning, but that’s not going to guarantee them seeing the field in 2020.

The defense seems to be sorted out in terms of who’s going to play where. A lot of new faces were mentioned by Fuller, as players who will have a role in 2020.

DJ Lundy, Josh Griffis, Jarvis Brownlee, Travis Jay, and Stephen Dix Jr. are all players he mentioned. Meiko Dotson Jr. is a transfer that’s been making some noise in week one too.

All of the running back room consists of new faces, and players like Corey Wren, Ja’Khi Douglas, Lawrance Toafili, Bryan Robinson, and Kentron Poitier have flashed this week.

The term competitive depth is something I’ve mentioned several times in years past, and it looks as if the younger players are starting to create that among the veterans on the team.
