FSU football has a week in the books with the 2020 fall camp. I take a look at three observations from what has taken place.

The first FSU football season of the Mike Norvell era has been unlike any other. However, things appear to be going well, despite a couple of bumps in the road off of the field.

There’s a difference between this coaching staff and the last one. The access is given, and the detailed approach of each staff member stands out.

The constant evaluations of the players have allowed the staff to have a general idea of the pieces they have despite spending more of their time on zoom calls instead of the practice field.

The Noles wrapped up their first week of fall camp with a situational scrimmage Saturday night in Doak Campbell Stadium.

The reactions to the scrimmage were not surprising considering the circumstances. It’s not a surprise the defense is ahead of the offense.

It should be, as the scheme is similar to something most of them have run before, and there’s a ton of experience and talent returning on that side of the ball.

I said it a long time ago, the defense will be the strength of this team, but I think the offense will improve as well. Of course, we won’t know anything until they play an actual game.

Until then, here are three observations from the first week of FSU football practice.
