Recruiting Momentum

The 2020 recruiting class was all about salvaging things, trying to find the best possible players available in a short amount of time without wasting scholarships just to meet a number.

The coaching staff did about as well as one could hope for under the circumstances, addressing numbers at key positions.

Of course, finishing No. 22 in the nation in recruiting isn’t meeting the standard, and that’s why the coaching staff has worked hard on the 2021 class, despite ridiculous obstacles due to the coronavirus.

College football recruiting is heavily tied to momentum, and we saw teams like Tennessee capture it in April. The Noles were on fire in May, with six players added between the 2021 class and the transfer portal, which counts towards the 2020 recruiting class.

That momentum continued into June with the Noles landing the following players:

The Noles continue to add at positions of need and are in the mix for several quality players down the stretch. FSU currently sits at No. 23 nationally but has the third-highest per player average in the ACC behind Clemson and UNC. For context, if FSU football landed two blue-chip players most people feel they’ll sign right now, they’d jump to No. 13.
