FSU football: Impact of 2020 signee Manny Rogers going to JUCO

Scholarship Count/Recruiting
One of the only positives this news brings about is the scholarship that would have gone to Manny Rogers can now go to a player in the 2021 recruiting class.
FSU football has yet to gain a commitment from a 2021 defensive tackle, and the news of Rogers not coming immediately means the coaching staff can point to a fast track to playing time for potential recruits.
As I mentioned, the addition of Lovett is huge, but there isn’t a lot of proven depth behind the likes of Marvin Wilson, Cory Durden, and Robert Cooper.
Not to mention Cooper could leave for the NFL if he wanted and was projected to be drafted highly.
The coaching staff could also choose to take another offensive lineman from the high school ranks or transfer portal with this scholarship opening up. If Rogers were to sign with the Noles out of JUCO, that scholarship would count towards that year and not 2021.
