Roster Evaluation

One huge positive I’ve seen so far is Mike Norvell and the staff’s ability to identify where the biggest needs of the roster are.

They’ve already addressed quarterback, running back, and is working diligently on fixing the offensive line.

Their issues are mostly at offensive tackle, and over 70 percent of their offensive line offers for 2021 is at offensive tackle.

They are also looking to address the lack of depth at defensive tackle and defensive end. The smart thing they’re doing is looking for players in the transfer portal or JUCO, so the learning curve won’t be as steep once players like Marvin Wilson and Cory Durden depart after 2020.

Knowing what the biggest needs on the roster are is half of the battle. If they signed several blue-chip skill players to have a higher ranked class and neglected the trenches, the higher ranking wouldn’t mean anything.
