Florida State had a small group of three visitors this weekend on campus with three-star safety commit Jemari Foreman, three-star defensive end Stevan Thornton III, and three-star linebacker CJ Ohuabunwa.
I wrote in a recent piece how important it was that the Seminoles went 3/3 during the final official visit weekend. Head coach Mike Norvell has been dealt a tough set of circumstances, as Florida State football has struggled on the gridiron.
Norvell is on the hot seat after recording four losing seasons during his six years in Tallahassee. This is the place that the legendary Bobby Bowden built, so the expectations are high to be a championship competitor. Florida State has continued to receive horrible news updates in recruiting, but the Seminoles got a positive development on Sunday afternoon.
Florida State was able to get three-star safety commit Jemari Foreman to shut down his recruitment with the Seminoles
It is great to acquire talented pieces who are uncommitted. However, it is also important to secure the pledges that the program has. One recruit that the coaching staff needed to lock down was three-star commit Jemari Foreman.
Foreman has been pledged to the Seminoles since September of last year. Plenty has changed since Foreman committed, as Florida State didn't take advantage of its opening victory against Alabama by not making a bowl game.
The official visit from the Florida native was to see how the coaching staff plans to use him and how much of a priority that he is. The Louisville Cardinals were heavily pursuing Foreman, and it was justified for Seminole fans to be nervous about it.
The talented defensive back had ten interceptions during his junior season last year. The Seminoles needed some type of good news, with four-star defensive back Mekhi Williams going to Wisconsin and three-star defensive back Dayon Cooper flipping to Tennessee.
