FSU football: Positional transfer needs this offseason for the Noles

The Florida State Seminoles will be addressing the transfer portal this offseason as they hope to continue positive momentum.

Florida State fans have been so critical of the linebacker position. While linebackers coach Randy Shannon has done a tremendous job in developing the players on the roster, I believe that some of the fans are worried about the depth of the position room.

As we already know, redshirt seniors Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune will exceed their eligibility after this season. Unfortunately, redshirt junior DJ Lundy elected to enter the transfer portal, which has now put the Seminoles in a bind.

Florida State now has contributors such as Blake Nichelson, Omar Graham Jr., Justin Cryer, DeMarco Ward, Jayden Parrish, and Timir Hickman-Collins. While these players are talented, none of them have much collegiate experience, which is a bit worrisome.

The transfer portal targets are slim at the linebacker position, especially with Georgia's Ramon Dumas-Johnson transferring to the Kentucky Wildcats. A name to monitor could be USC's Tackett Curtis. I expect the Seminoles to get at least one, maybe two, expected linebackers in the transfer portal.
