FSU football: Pivotal visitor weekend upcoming for the Noles
MARVIN JONES JR.
Do you sense a common theme here? The Florida State Seminoles are in desperate need of replenishing their defensive line depth. Thankfully, everything seems to be settled down with redshirt sophomore Patrick Payton.
However, who will be the player who emerges as the opposite starter? I believe that Florida State might have found their match with Georgia sophomore defensive end transfer Marvin Jones Jr. The up-and-coming defender is the son of former legendary linebacker Marvin "Shade Tree" Jones, who played with the Seminoles from 1990-1992.
Florida State recruited Jones Jr. heavily during his recruitment process. However, the highly-touted prospect elected to take his talents to the Georgia Bulldogs. Unfortunately, he did not make a significance impact with the Bulldogs and felt that transferring was in his best interest.
The Seminoles could certainly sell meaningful playing time to Jones Jr. Plus, he could most definitely make the most out of his NIL opportunities, given who his father is.
This would be a win-win situation for both parties. Hopefully, the coaching staff can seal the deal this weekend.
