WHO IS THE SEMINOLES' SECOND-LEADING RECEIVER?

Florida State has their work cut out for them as they have to replace the likes of Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman who are off to the NFL. They are talented big-bodied options that quarterback Jordan Travis relied on in 2023.

As we fast forward to 2024, the Seminoles brought in former Clemson and Oregon State transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei this offseason. It seems pretty obvious through the practices that former Alabama wide receiver transfer Malik Benson has emerged as the number-one option.

This begs the question of who will be the second-leading receiver in the offense. The wide receiver options in the rotation are very inexperienced. There was a thought that a player such as Hykeem Williams or Kentron Poitier would emerge.

True freshmen players such as Elijah Moore and Lawayne McCoy have impressed the coaching staff thus far, but I know it might be difficult to envision the young pieces being the number-two receiver option.

If I have to take a stab at it, I would say that veteran Ja'Khi Douglas will be the second receiver behind Benson. The Houma, Louisiana native recorded 243 yards last season. Douglas has shown his talent in the biggest moments during his Seminoles career. I think he could do it when the team needs him the most during his senior season.
