FOUR-STAR S HYLTON STUBBS

Florida State is having to replace the likes of veteran Akeem Dent, who was a big contributor for the Seminoles during the 2023 season. The safety position is somewhat up in the air with Dent exceeding his eligibility.

While veteran Shyheim Brown is still in the position group, the depth needs to be replenished. Safeties such as Conrad Hussey, Ashlynd Barker, and Kevin Knowles II are talented. However, defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. knows that the safety position could be something that needs to be addressed after this season.

One prospect that the Seminoles need to continue to pursue is four-star safety Hylton Stubbs from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Yes... I mentioned yet another talented recruit from the high school. Stubbs recently committed to the USC Trojans after previously being crystalballed to the arch-rival Florida Gators.

I originally thought that it could be difficult to get Stubbs on campus after his pledge to the Trojans. However, he has already taken an official visit to Tallahassee. Plus, his older brother (Harold Stubbs IV) currently is a defensive back at Florida State.

Stubbs is officially visiting Florida State on the weekend of June 14th. However, the coaching staff has plenty of work to do since teams such as USC, Miami, and Florida are involved.
