Florida State currently has the eighteenth-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle with four commitments in the fold. Fans understand the lack of prospects committed will not be what it is when we approach Signing Day.

However, the coaching staff is doing its best to convince the best of the best to make their way to Tallahassee. Florida State has a ton of factors to sell in terms of recruiting with the successful 2023 season, coaching continuity, and players getting drafted to the NFL.

As we look into Florida State's recruiting target board, there seems to be a wide variety of prospects that they are interested in. However, recruiting is ever-changing due to it being teenagers making one of the most important decisions of their lifetimes.

Some targets have started to trend elsewhere via crystal ball predictions such as five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench Jr. (Ohio State), four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III (Ohio State), and four-star safety Darrell Johnson Jr. (Alabama).

With that being said, there is the importance of being able to remain calm throughout the process where there are back-up plans for every situation. Head football coach Mike Norvell always emphasizes the fact of responding to adversity when difficult times arise.

Being the eighteenth-best recruiting class is not ultimately where the Seminoles want to be in terms of stacking up against the rest of the competition. As a result, the coaching staff will have to put their recruiting hats on and get to work.

In regards to targeted prospects, I believe one prospect that the Seminoles have to land is four-star safety target Hylton Stubbs from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. The talented defensive back is teammates with four-star quarterback commit Tramell Jones Jr.

The fact that Jones Jr. goes to Mandarin High School has not impacted the Seminoles positively as five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench Jr. is trending to Ohio State and even Stubbs has a crystal ball prediction in favor of the arch-rival Florida Gators. The Seminoles cannot lose the talented prospect at a position of need to a rival.

The depth of the safety position is already slim for this upcoming season with Akeem Dent exceeding his eligibility. They did not add a safety in the 2024 cycle. While I like options such as Earl Little Jr. (hybrid safety?), Shyheim Brown, Conrad Hussey, Kevin Knowles II, Ashlynd Barker, and Davonte Brown, there still needs work done to the rotation to create competition in the room.
