No Cam Brooks? No problem. FSU football has its sights set on another pass rusher

Florida State could swing for the fences to get this talented pass rusher.

Florida State football currently ranks as the 20th-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. At times, the Seminoles' fan base has been critical of the recruiting ability of this coaching staff. It doesn't help that Florida State went 2-10 in 2024 and is trying to return to respectability in college football.

To be honest, I like this recruiting class that they have constructed thus far. I know that there are only nine prospects in the fold, but the summer should be a fruitful time for the program. There have been individuals who criticize the staff over "missed" recruitments.

We have mentioned the four-star defensive end Cam Brooks's situation, where he pledged to the California Golden Bears. The pass rusher lives about thirty minutes from the Seminoles' campus, and Florida State was his number one school at one point.

This is not a shot at Brooks because I like him as a person and a prospect, but individuals feel like the sky is falling when it isn't.

Florida State has its sights set on a capable pass rusher in three-star defensive end Katrell Webb from Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia. In case you were wondering, prepare your PTSD because that is the same high school that former five-star prospect and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter attended.

Defensive coordinator Tony White, defensive line coach Terrance Knighton, and safeties coach Evan Cooper recently conducted a visit with Webb.

His statistics don't reflect him being listed as a three-star prospect because he recorded 68 tackles (29 for loss) and 13 sacks during the 2024 season. He only has an official visit scheduled with Indiana thus far on June 6th, so Florida State has a chance to get involved in the recruitment.
