Florida State football has the 11th-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle. The Seminoles have four-star running back Amari Clemons, four-star wide receivers Darryon Williams and Efrem White, four-star safety Darryl Bell III, three-star offensive tackle Xavier Payne, and three-star safety Tedarius Hughes.
The recruiting class is not finalized where the coaches are involved with several high-touted prospects. With the Seminoles hiring new staff members, fans want to see them recruit more at the high school level instead of putting their trust in the transfer portal if things don't go as planned on the homegrown side of things.
Speaking of Florida State pursuing talented high schoolers, we at ChopChat conducted a Q&A with Class of 2026 four-star defensive end Cam Brooks from Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, Georgia.
Q: I know that you are visiting Florida State for an official visit this summer. Is there anything that you are looking forward to when you take the trip?
A: "My OV (official visit) is really to get a better feel for FSU and also the new coaching staff. I also plan on visiting in the spring, just to see what the team's brotherhood is like, because that's an important factor in my recruitment."
Q: You are a highly-touted prospect that has interest from a ton of schools. Do you have anything that stands out to you about Florida State?
A: "The biggest thing that stands out to me about FSU is how close they are to me. They are only about 40 minutes away."
During his three seasons of high school, Brooks recorded 72 tackles (22.5 for loss), 16.5 sacks, and 49 quarterback hurries. If you would like to follow him on his Twitter (X) account, click here.
