FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Florida State football recruiting for the 2026 cycle has been a productive haul thus far, but the coaching staff, as well as the fan base, would like to acquire more high-caliber prospects to the fold for the future foundation of the program.
Our own Kelvin Hunt wrote about a five-star cornerback commit Chauncey Kennon putting his recruiting on for a four-star Miami defensive end commit Asharri Charles from Venice, Florida.
Kennon wasn't the only one trying to get Charles to come to Tallahassee as current cornerback Charles Lester III shared on his Instagram account, where he stated that the defensive end prospect "knew better from the start".

THOUGHTS ON LESTER III'S COMMENTS
I mean, Lester III isn't wrong; it usually isn't a smart investment to commit to the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes. Their ACC trophy case is about as small as their humility. Nonetheless, this is a fan base that will continue to smack-talk regardless of whether they are 0-12 or 12-0.
Charles has been committed to the Hurricanes since June 22. He took an official on the weekend of June 20, so, understandably, he pledged a few days after the trip. Most prospects want to announce their commitment before their senior season so that they don't have to continue stressing about the school to which they will commit.
I certainly believe that it helps having talented defensive backs such as Charles Lester III and Chauncey Kennon in the Seminoles' corner as they attempt to flip one of the Hurricanes' biggest pledges.
Defensive line coach Terrance Knighton has prospects such as Earnest Rankins, Tico Crittendon, James Carrington, and Wihtlley Cadeau in the class, but is still looking for a viable pass rusher after targets Chris Addison (Michigan State) and Katrell Webb (Purdue) went elsewhere.
This would be a huge boost to the Seminoles' defensive line that they could build on for several years.
