Florida State football had a 2-10 record in 2024. This was an embarrassment to all parties. The fan base just wanted to see the calendar hit 2025 and act like it never happened.

Head football coach Mike Norvell knew that major changes needed to be made and understood that this is a huge year for the perception of the program if they want to taken seriously within the landscape of college football.

There have been players on the roster who have expressed their frustrations for good reason. I even mentioned in the article that defensive back Edwin Joseph could be a household name in 2025. His demeanor about how he approached every day, even when the Seminoles were struggling, was inspiring.

Overall, I believe that this Seminole team has a ton of talent that can result in getting them back to where they want to go. Some positions have taken a step forward in terms of production.

One unit that I am excited about is linebacker. Position coach Randy Shannon is no longer in Tallahassee after he was relieved of his duties. However, former defensive ends coach John Papuchis steps into the role as linebackers coach.

He will have pieces such as Blake Nichelson, Omar Graham Jr., Justin Cryer, Stefon Thompson, Ethan Pritchard, Jayden Parrish, and potentially transfers such as Marques Watson-Trent and Caleb LaVallee.

Players have expressed that 2025 will be better, which is an encouraging sign since the fan base is starving for success.

Graham Jr. went on his Instagram story and posted the following statement: "Coming for it all, I swear." This is encouraging as the redshirt sophomore proved the doubters wrong with a productive back-half of 2024. I am excited to see how he can emerge in new defensive coordinator Tony White's 3-3-5 scheme.

I am glad that Florida State was able to keep the linebacker from transferring out of the program.
