Florida State football is currently sitting with an 5-5 overall record, but the missed opportunities have been disappointing to the fan base. Some individuals can't get past losing to Stanford on the road or even Pittsburgh at home with a true freshman quarterback (this is understandable).

This is just part of the reasoning behind a portion of the fan base not wanting Mike Norvell in Tallahassee. Florida State will be taking on the North Carolina State Wolfpack tonight at 8 PM EST in Carter-Finley Stadium.

The Seminoles will have the spotlight with being on ESPN, but the failures on the road have been concerning, where the program have lost seven straight contests away from home. This negative trend eventually has to end for good.

RECRUITING AT FLORIDA STATE

To be honest, recruiting has been awkward since fans and even recruits don't truly know if Mike Norvell or even the coaching staff will stay in Tallahassee. If the administration is doing a "comprehensive assessment" at the end of the year, it looks like we will be playing the waiting game until the Seminoles play Florida on the road to end the regular season.

Florida State has 28 commitments in their recruiting class and are currently ranked as the fourteen-best in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite. They recently landed four-star running back Amari Thomas (former South Carolina commit) and three-star safety Jordan Crutchfield (former Kentucky commit) on Thursday night.

This is the sixth pledge of November for Florida State, and it sends a message to fans, players, and recruits that Coach Norvell could likely remain the head football coach of the Seminoles at the end of the year.

This could be something that individuals will be throwing their pitchforks in the air for, but it looks like the $54 million buyout and the fact that they aren't a great pool of coaches might be the deciding factors. Nonetheless, this has the potential to be a solid recruiting class for the Seminoles, just like 2025.

It would be ideal to get more offensive linemen in the class to build the rotation for the future, given the program might have to acquire more transfers this offseason since all the starters are seniors.
