Florida State football wants to turn the page after having a 2-10 record in 2024. We all know it was not the Seminoles' proud program history standard. Head football coach Mike Norvell seems to be very disappointed in what happened.

As a result, Norvell thought that it would be a quick fix to get the Seminoles out of the bottom dwellers. Florida State did not expect the results from last season, as fans were thinking that 2024 would result in a conference championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff.

As far as the quick fixes, Norvell decided to fire and hire a new coaching staff to develop players on the roster. Then he went out and delivered on a solid recruiting class. Lastly, he acquired talented transfer portal prospects to provide depth to the roster.

Florida State hosted several transfers on campus throughout the last couple of weeks. The Seminoles already had thirteen of them signed. However, an emphasis is still being placed on running back, wide receiver, defensive line, and linebacker.

I already wrote about the three former Tennessee transfers: wide receiver Squirrel White, defensive end Jayson Jenkins, and linebacker Elijah Herring, and the Seminoles' chances with them.

I also saw that the Seminoles' coaching staff was mentioning on social media that good news could be coming soon. My prediction was correct, as Tennessee defensive end transfer Jayson Jenkins committed to Florida State on Sunday morning.

Jenkins had nine tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble during the 2024 season with the Volunteers. The Seminoles already have Nebraska's James Williams, Western Kentucky's Deante McCray, and Coastal Carolina's Deamontae Diggs. It helps that the former Tennessee transfer has two years of eligibility remaining.

Jenkins should be a menace in defensive coordinator Tony White's 3-3-5 defensive scheme with his 6'6" and 281-pound frame. This was a solid get for a Seminoles team that is looking to disrupt opposing offenses.
