Florida State's 2026 recruiting class is rated as the 10th best in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
The newly-constructed coaching staff is trying to develop relationships with prospects from the future cycles. One concern that I had from the previous regime of coaches was their commitment to recruiting home-grown high school talent.
Florida State already has pieces such as wide receivers Efrem White and Darryon Williams, offensive tackle Xavier Payne, and safeties Darryl Bell III and Tedarius Hughes.
With that said, Florida State is far from finished with acquiring more talent in the 2026 recruiting class. One name that became interesting to monitor was four-star running back Amari Clemons from Marianna, Florida as he arrived at Tallahassee for the second straight weekend.
Clemons made it official as he committed to the Seminoles. This is a good get for Florida State as he recorded 1,880 rushing yards and 34 touchdowns last season.
The Seminoles are continuing to stack talent at the running back position as they acquired four-star prospects Kameron Davis and Micahi Danzy in the 2024 cycle and then four-star Ousmane Kromah in 2025.
I believe that Kromah and Davis could be players that have significant playing under new offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, but that does not mean that you turn talent like Clemons away. I understand that running backs are not a position of need, but the Seminoles need to take as many dynamic playmakers as possible.
Nonetheless, the Seminoles will be searching for other prospects to build the foundation of the program. The coaching staff should be able to acquire some of the prospects that visit this spring and gear up to have a full recruiting class, or at least close to it.
