Could true freshman Ousmane Kromah be an RB1 in the Seminoles' offense?

True freshman to the rescue?

Florida State football had a tremendous 2025 recruiting class, given the circumstances of having a 2-10 record in 2024, a whole new coaching staff, and a conference that remains incompetent of being successful.

Nonetheless, the Seminoles had a successful recruiting class where they still have prospects they want to sign in February such as four-star offensive lineman Chastan Brown.

Florida State had several prospects that they flipped to the university, such as four-star running back Ousmane Kromah. The Georgia native was committed to the home-state Bulldogs before surprisingly flipping to the Seminoles during the Early Signing Period.

Kromah is one of those special backs that you cannot afford to miss out on. Trust me, I know what you are thinking... the running back position is replaceable. However, as we are seeing in the NFL, playmakers such as Saquon Barkley and Kyren Williams are making headlines.

Florida State will lose Lawrance Toafili, Caziah Holmes, and maybe even Roydell Williams (if he doesn't choose to take the redshirt). The Seminoles come into the 2025 season with returning pieces, such as Jaylin Lucas, Kameron Davis, Micahi Danzy, and Samuel Singleton Jr.

They are talented backs, but they have not proven that they are consistent collegiate playmakers that can be trusted. I know that Mike Norvell could be on a short leash after what happened in 2024, he has to do whatever it takes to make the offense lethal in 2025.

I realize that true freshman Ousmane Kromah is just a true freshman coming into the program, but the Seminoles need difference-makers on offense. Kromah is that.

During his senior year of high school, Kromah finished with 1,290 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. His combination of speed, power, and balance is something that I think the coaching staff cannot afford to miss out on if he pieces everything together.
