Florida State head coach Mike Norvell has the task of calling plays for the Seminoles' offense in 2026. This is after the offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn unexpectedly retired this offseason, so Norvell is back in a role that he held in 2024.

The two straight losing seasons have the fan base not believing that Coach Norvell has what it takes next year. However, with wide receiver Duce Robinson highlighting the offense, he could take the pressure off of everyone and allow the unit to create an identity that could cause fits to opposing defenses.

Everyone talks about Robinson for good reason since he had over 1,000 receiving yards last year. However, some underrated players in this offense can surprise Seminole fans in 2026.

Wide receiver Jayvan Boggs

Wide receiver Jayvan Boggs received high praise from Duce Robinson last offseason, which didn't pan out much after the former Cocoa High School standout's injury-riddled true freshman season. Boggs is projected to be one of the Seminoles' starting pass catchers after Lawayne McCoy decided to transfer to Louisville.

Tight end Landen Thomas

Florida State's fan base doesn't want to hear much about the tight end position, but in Norvell's offense, they are versatile weapons that can line up anywhere. The Seminoles decided to retain junior tight end Landen Thomas after announcing that he would be entering the portal. With Randy Pittman Jr. off to SMU, this could be a breakout year for the former four-star prospect.

Tight end Chase Loftin

Florida State's coaching staff grabbed former four-star tight end Chase Loftin in the high school recruiting ranks. Coach Norvell stated that Loftin was their top recruiting want in the 2025 cycle, which is interesting. It isn't often that you see the Seminoles grab a prospect from the state of Nebraska. The redshirt freshman only played four games last season, but I could envision a scenario where they utilize the 6'6" target.
