FSU football: Top impact transfer players from 2022 recruiting class
By Kelvin Hunt
Greedy Vance
Remember the takes firing off at the time Greedy Vance announced he was coming to FSU from Louisville? It was around the same time Jarvis Brownlee announced he was leaving FSU to go to Louisville, and we all wondered who got the better of the swap.
The winner was FSU because Greedy Vance evolved into a player for the Noles after a lackluster start to the season.
One key moment early in the year was Vance not catching a sure interception against Wake Forest, which allowed Wake’s drive to continue in a situation that would have put FSU in a great position to complete their comeback.
However, Vance rebounded nicely, outplaying Kevin Knowles at the nickel back position for much of the year and finishing with 16 tackles, three interceptions, and two passes defended.
FSU fans didn’t realize how dire FSU’s depth was in the secondary during the spring months.
However, that issue emerged during the season, and the Vance addition proved to be a smart move in hindsight. Vance will return for the 2023 season.
