Miami

Miami was the third most overrated team on my list in the preseason. They got destroyed by Alabama, as expected, and nearly lost to Appalachian State before losing against Virginia at home. Miami has yet to defeat a Power Five team in 2021.

They only beat Virginia by five points in 2020. Starting quarterback D’Eriq King is out for the year, and their defense is worse this year than last. Not to mention their offensive line is still an issue, and they are among the worst tackling defense in the nation.

The Canes will be betting underdogs in three of their next four games before traveling to Tallahassee. The only reason I have them ranked above Boston College is their defense is better.

We know the FSU game is their Superbowl, so they’ll go all out to win that so they can claim this season is a success, despite failing to meet expectations for the 20-something year in a row.

The thing is, Manny Diaz might not make it to the FSU game if they get embarrassed too badly. North Carolina, NC State, and Pittsburgh could blow Miami out, and that team could quit at the slightest bit of adversity.
