As someone that covers FSU football, I, unfortunately, come across Miami Hurricane fans on social media from time to time.

I mean, it’s not like they exist in real life since they never go to games, but they always love to talk smack, and I willingly give them the business every time.

One consistent argument I always use is Miami treats FSU football like their Super Bowl every year. It doesn’t matter what their record is during the season because they will put their life on the line to beat FSU.

How many times have we watched Miami collapse after a loss to the Noles? Remember in 2013 when they came to Doak Campbell undefeated and ranked No. 7?

The Noles beat brakes off of them 41-14, and Miami lost their next two games against Virginia Tech and Duke. In 2014, FSU traveled to Miami with the Canes on a three-game winning streak.

They lost to the Noles and the next three games to end the season on a four-game losing streak. In 2016, FSU football traveled to Miami with the Canes ranked No. 10.

The Block at the Rock win for the Noles resulted in Miami losing the next three games. I don’t know how much more proof is needed to prove the Noles is their Super Bowl.

However, this right here takes the cake:

Miami will play No. 1 Alabama in their season opener and will go into the game as 20-point betting underdogs. It takes Miami playing the War Chant to get them ready to play Alabama?

The fans know more about FSU recruiting than most FSU fans. Manny Diaz was so concerned about FSU recruiting he had to make a statement in June to defend how poorly his program is performing on the recruiting trail.

FSU doesn’t think about Miami until the week of the game. They already know Miami isn’t going to win anything. They haven’t won an ACC title since coming over to the league over 15 years ago.

I know Miami fans will love to point out the fact they’ve beaten some of the worst FSU teams in history the past few years. They aren’t bragging about beating a good FSU team, and that should tell you all you need to know.

FSU football is the Super Bowl for Miami every year.
