FSU football has been dominant on the recruiting trail for the 2022 cycle. Mike Norvell has the Noles with the No. 3 ranked recruiting class nationally, and that seems to have caught the attention of one rival head coach in particular.

The Miami Hurricane’s Manny Diaz.

Diaz made some comments over the weekend as the Noles landed multiple commitments from quality players.

He never mentioned FSU specifically, but FSU football is the only school in Florida that’s blazing the recruiting trails.

I suppose Diaz’s claim of being authentic is a departure from what Miami has done historically since they probably lead the nation in de-commitments over the past decade.

If that statement wasn’t enough, Diaz had to keep talking about recruiting to help himself and his fan base feel better.

The need to comment publically about their recruiting speaks volumes to me. Miami has the No. 66 recruiting class nationally, after having one of their best seasons in quite some time last year.

Of course, he’d say they have some players silently committed when they only have three commits in their 2022 class. He’ll say anything at this point to try and deflect what Mike Norvell is doing on the recruiting trails.

Miami fans are starting to chirp about the success of FSU and how they could have such a great class after going 3-6. Their hope is, the Noles class will fall apart if the Noles lose a few games during the season.

The only problem with that is Mike Norvell isn’t selling empty promises of being back after two decades of not winning anything. The FSU recruiting class knows what’s up and what’s ahead of them.

Miami will land some decent players here and there, and they won’t finish ranked in the 60s. However, Manny Diaz has a lot of work to do on the recruiting trails if they want to make up ground on Mike Norvell and FSU football.
