NC State

This game against NC State has always been hard to peg. They are a better defensive team than offensive, but their quarterback Devin Leary has played well through five games.

He missed last year’s game with an injury, and NC State still beat FSU with their backup QB. Leary carved up a Clemson defense ranked among the best in the nation, and they have a solid running game behind two running backs.

Defensively, they don’t get after the quarterback or cause havoc quite as much as in years past, but they get off the field on third down (23.94 percent conversions).

However, they will travel to Tallahassee this year, and they always seem to falter on that trip, unlike when they play FSU in Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh.

I almost put this game ahead of Clemson, but matchup-wise, the Noles probably match up slightly better overall with the Wolfpack and they don’t have as much overall talent as the Tigers.
