Florida

Let’s go ahead and put it out there. Dan Mullen isn’t an elite recruiter and doesn’t like to recruit. He doesn’t even want to be a Florida it seems.

The Gators are coming off their best year in forever and have the No. 24 ranked recruiting class with five commits.

Their defense was awful last year, they didn’t have a running game, and Kyle Trask declared for the NFL. The recruiting ceiling for Dan Mullen has been No. 9 in the nation.

He’s not a new coach, Florida hasn’t won anything in years, and there isn’t much of a draw for elite players to go there.

The high school recruits don’t remember anything about Tim Tebow or Percy Harvin. It’s Florida, and they’ll get some good players because they are in a talent-rich state, but will they get elite players under Dan Mullen?

I don’t think so, and the Gators may have missed a prime opportunity to increase the talent gap between Florida and FSU football.

The Noles are in the mix for a ton of 2022 players, and the gap between them and UF will be too great to overcome.
