FSU football will have higher-ranked 2022 classes than Florida and Miami
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has gotten off to a great start with its 2022 recruiting class. The pandemic was a gift and a curse of sorts.
It was a curse that it didn’t allow FSU coaches to host players on campus or visit their high schools for over a year.
It was a curse that it helped Miami keep some talented 2021 players in South Florida who normally would have gone elsewhere if they could have visited like normal.
However, the gift was it allowed the coaching staff to spend more time making up ground on the 2022 recruiting cycle and beyond.
That time was well spent and is already paying dividends, as the Noles have the No. 10 recruiting class in the nation with eight commits.
They are in the mix for a ton of other blue-chip recruits, and as long as they show progress on the field in 2021, they could finish with a top 10 recruiting class.
How is that possible after the last few seasons? How is it possible after the 2020 season? FSU football is different than the other in-state schools. Florida had their best year in forever and got caught cheating on the trails and still couldn’t bring in a top 10 class.
Miami has been talking about being back in forever and hasn’t done anything in nearly two decades except getting embarrassed in bowl games.
Both teams are well behind the Noles in 2022 recruiting, and there are several reasons why it’ll stay that way.
