Miami

I argued with Miami fans on social media last year. They bragged about having a top 10 recruiting class(that ultimately fell to No. 16).

I was explaining to them the only reason they had a highly-ranked class was that they were able to keep recruits from South Florida in the area. Those players typically go elsewhere, but because of COVID and the dead period, those players were not able to visit other places.

It also prevented other schools from coming to visit them in South Florida. Unlike Tallahassee, which closer to a lot of major schools, players from South Florida aren’t close to any other major schools, so those players stayed home.

Let’s fast forward to the 2022 class, and we see Miami has one commit and ranked No. 68 in the nation. They have no momentum whatsoever, lost their bowl game, and these recruits were not alive the last time Miami was relevant in anything.

I’m sure they’ll get some talented players here and there, but it’s telling they only have one commit in the 2022 class. Not to mention they open up against Alabama in the season opener.

Their season might be over before it gets started.
