Quarterbacks

Man, I got tired of reading social media last week regarding FSU quarterbacks. I have no idea why there’s such a divide among the fans regarding who should start.

The fact of the matter is FSU football is going to need both James Blackman and Alex Hornibrook to win games this year.

They actually complement one another well with Blackman having the stronger arm and Hornibrook better at the RPO game.

When was the last time FSU had two capable quarterbacks to begin with? I think James Blackman should remain the starter when gets healthy because he was playing really well in the Louisville game prior to getting hurt.

He’s nowhere close to the reason FSU lost two games this year as his stats blow everything from last year away.

However, I do believe Hornibrook has earned the right to continue seeing snaps. He’s played well for the most part, and that has to have help gain some trust and confidence from his teammates.

NC State probably gave opposing teams a good blueprint on how to defend Hornibrook by taking away the short/intermediate stuff.

That’s where Blackman comes in with his ability to take the top off vertically which opens up the underneath stuff.

FSU is in solid hands with either player and should have a solid shot at winning eight games.
