FSU football: Top 5 observations heading into the bye week

Final Thoughts
Winning and confidence can do some amazing things. I think credit must be given to Willie Taggart for somehow getting this team to where they are now.
There was progress being made in the first few games of the season offensively. However, the defense was playing so poorly that it got overshadowed coupled with almost losing to Louisiana-Monroe.
It looked as though this program was dead in the water and the writing on the wall when they blew another 21 point lead against Louisville.
Had FSU lost that game it would be a much different feeling around the program today. However, they showed resiliency and the willingness to continue fighting and finished that game impressively which carried over to NC State.
I don’t expect FSU to beat Clemson in two weeks, but I certainly think it’ll be a better game now than I did two weeks ago.
I also feel much better about games with Wake Forest, Syracuse, Miami and Boston College. Heck, we can throw Florida in there two as there’s no telling how teams with progress between now and late November.
The NC State game felt different. It felt like a FSU football team that was playing for each other with amazing effort and physicality. That’s something to build on and I’m excited to see what the next few weeks hold.
