Asante Samuel Jr. returns as the starting field side cornerback after a strong finish to his freshman season.

He was one of FSU’s best cover corners who had 17 tackles on the season, one tackle for loss and nine passes defended which led the team.

College Football news has him listed as one of the top 30 cornebacks in the nation at No. 21.

Samuel Jr. isn’t the biggest cornerback, but he lacks up for size with one of the biggest competitive fires in college football.

He’s all dog on the field and will let you know about it. The son of a former NFL cornerback, Samuel Jr. came to FSU football with sound technique.

He should provide excellent coverage on his side of the field and is a sure tackler for someone with a smaller build.
