Recruiting/Development

I touched on this Tuesday, but the only name you really heard associated with Walt Bell was four-star quarterback commit Sam Howell.

The thing is the relationship with Howell was forged mostly while Bell was at Maryland. What other recruits or commits have cited Bell as their primary contact?

Did you ever see Walt Bell in pictures on social media with recruits and/or FSU commits?

Nope.

That was almost always Raymond Woodie Jr., Harlon Barnett, Donte’ Pimpleton, David Kelly or Mark Snyder.

How much did Deondre Francois improve in his year with Walt Bell? I know it was a knew system and Francois was coming off a long layoff with the knee injury.

Francois wasn’t a GREAT quarterback his redshirt freshman season, but he certainly looked like he regressed in 2018.

Listen, I know the offensive line was terrible but Francois left A LOT of plays on the field. The fact he could never  figure out how to consistently make the right decisions on RPO plays throughout the year was telling.

That falls on coaching and guess who the QB coach was too? FSU needs another good recruiter on staff but also someone that can help develop quarterbacks.
