Who Has Miami Beaten?

It’s true FSU football hasn’t beaten anyone of note this season, but the same could be said for the Miami Hurricanes. In years past, they’ve routinely stocked the schedule against the FIU’s, Bethune Cookman’s, and Toledo’s of the world before playing the Noles taking a loss and fading into obscurity.

The same holds true this year. They got waxed by the only real opponent they’ve played in LSU and padded their schedule with the likes of Savannah State, FIU, Toledo and a terrible UNC team.

Yes, I use S&P advanced metrics all the time and those stats have Miami as one of the best teams in the country.

The stats say their defense is similar to the 85′ Bears or something, but the stats are lying just as they did last year.

This matchup sort of reminds me of the matchup against Michigan in the 2016 Orange Bowl. I said as much then, Michigan’s defensive stats were skewed because they barely played any teams with an offensive pulse.

What happened? The Noles went up and down the field on the “vaunted” Michigan defense and won outright as a seven point underdog.

I’m not saying the ‘Noles offense is legit my any means, but I’m not a believer in Miami until they beat an opponent with legit talent on the roster which FSU has in spades.
