FSU recruiting is at a fever pitch trying to close out #Tribe18 strong while laying the foundation for 2019.

I’m sure FSU recruiting has operated at this level in the past. There’s a reason why the former regime was able to land top land five classes consistently in their tenure.

However, it’s a different feel around Tallahassee in the Willie Taggart era, and it’s more of a different feel on the internet.

I talked about how Taggart using social media to his advantage was a huge improvement over the previous regime a few weeks ago.

Now that Taggart’s staff is complete, we’ve never seen FSU’s social media machine at this level. It’s unbelievable to see these guys posting on Twitter compared to the solely Tim Brewster from the old staff.

Not only are they posting on Twitter, they are providing locations, pictures with recruits and strategy.

That’s the entire defensive staff meeting with FSU target Malcolm Lamar. When the staff comes like that, that let’s the recruit know they are of high priority. Which is big because Lamar has a visit set up to visit Florida.

Play-By-Play

Look at that, it’s like a play-by-play of where they were recruiting and if you follow recruiting it’s pretty easy to decipher who they’re going to see.

That’s new FSU offensive coordinator Walt Bell giving the lowdown of where he would be this week. If you didn’t know, the “Gump” is slang for Alabama where high priority QB target James Foster II is from.

I think it’s clear Taggart and company have strategic plans laid out to cover all areas. However, another major different is actual high schools tweeting about FSU staff coming by.

That’s something I hardly ever recall with the old regime.

Thoughts

If you’re on Twitter give the coaches a follow as they’re a breath of fresh air. They’re young and hip to the young generation, hence all the slang and gifs.

It’s going to be interesting to see where #Tribe18 finishes up in the rankings. Which the final ranking isn’t as important as the actual quality of the class and meeting needs.

However, the real thing to watch will be how this FSU recruiting unit operates with a full year under its belt.
